Abstract

A lack of engineers and scientists in computer related areas has been constantly reported worldwide in recent years. One of the probable causes that have been studied is a misperception of the field. Even though youngsters of very early ages are getting in touch with high profile technological devices, somehow they not get encouraged enough to pursue this type of degrees when the time to choose comes. Showing them how technology works and the things that can be done with it, is a proven way to entice and lure they towards computing. Science centers are perfectly fitted places for this kind of displays, as they are urged and invited to use the exhibits and interact with them. A collaboration experience between a research group and a science center in northwestern Mexico is presented, along with a short-term perspective for new developments and educational projects.
