Abstract

We have developed a Problem Base Learning (PBL) system that offers compliant scenarios for the variety of core-curriculum. PBL is an integrated learning method in which the problematic point is found from case studies and the student learn from their attempts to solve the problem, as a result the basic medicine and clinical medicine can be linked together. Therefore, in Japanese medical education, a PBL system that provides the information-gathering capacity important for problem solving is emphasized. Since in BPL each doctor from different specialties is required to create new learning materials derived from patient cases every year, a tool that simplifies creating scenarios is important. In this work we describe a framework for scenarios creation and accumulation. The system provides the ability to browse scenarios created by different doctors and write online comments to improve the scenarios.
