Abstract
This paper is a report on the findings of information quality (accessibility, contextual, representational and intrinsic) and its impact on the satisfaction of the users at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). The findings show that four variables were able to explain 68% of the variation in satisfaction. Representational quality (b = 0.321, p< 0.01), contextual quality (b = 0.303, p< 0.01) and accessibility quality (b = 0.232, p< 0.01) were positively related to satisfaction of the user whereas intrinsic quality was not. This points to the importance of understandability, interpretability, and consistency of data influences user satisfaction. Timeliness, amount and relevancy of data come next with access and security of data an important issue. Accuracy, objectivity, and believability of data was not significantly related to satisfaction. This maybe due to the fact that this variable is already perceived to be high and was not an important issue in the users mind.
