Abstract

One of the challenges for teacher educators is how to use Information and Communications Technology (ICT) tools to most effectively assist teacher candidates learn both desired subject matter and ICT content, and then in turn learn to transfer that knowledge into their own classrooms. The guiding question and ongoing challenge is how to redefine learning activities and goals to accommodate these multiple tasks. Emerging sub-questions are 1) How is representation of knowledge changing? 2) How are teachers' and teacher candidates' conceptual understandings changing within their domains? 3) How is the representation of teaching changing? This symposium comprises five papers investigating some instances of these questions as they emerge from authors' practical experiences with teacher candidates.
