Abstract
This paper investigates the issues of ICT diffusion among faculty members at Ohio University. The barriers, potential adopters' uncertainty, and the role of change agents in diffusing ICT among faculty members are explored. The paper suggests a diffusion model that relies on reducing uncertainty of ICT usage for teaching in terms of various sub-conceptual diffusion mindsets such as boosting relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability, observability, and through change agents. Qualitative analysis of faculty members' perceptions of ICT for instruction suggests a strong need for diffusing ICT through interpersonal networks and graduate teaching assistants. Findings suggest a need to consider ICT use in the evaluation and promotion process.
