Abstract
What will be the impact of e-learning on Universities in the 21st century as well as on education and learning in a global framework? Are there instead of Universities going to be global e-learning certification centers? We anticipate two possible scenarios. Is this a good or wrong scenario to happen is the hypothesis of this discussion? In order to answer these questions and foresee the future of Universities an overview of education, impact of ICT and e-learning, especially distance education on Universities and educational models will be reviewed. Main focus is the impact of e-learning on future Universities and education process globally. The purpose is to: 1) Evaluate and predict the evolution path of the future Universities and education; 2) Improve and stream the path of the evolution of education and the life cycle of the future Universities; 3) Anticipate and foresee this impact in order to avoid the undesired and possible devaluation of the education.
