Abstract
Abstract: This paper reports the findings of a study which utilised diffusion of innovations theory to examine Web adoption by teachers in a secondary school in Sydney, Australia. Data collected through a survey questionnaire was used to examine teacher perceptions regarding various attributes of the Web as a tool for both teaching preparation and delivery. Our analysis of the data suggests that the innovation attributes of relative advantage, compatibility, visibility, ease of use, result demonstrability, and trialability should be considered by school administrators seeking to increase the rate of Web use by teachers in their schools. The image attribute did not emerge as significant in either of the cases examined. Implications for the development of strategies for e-Learning diffusion are discussed including practical examples.
