Abstract

Designing and developing simulators as a learning tool is an essential aspect of computerized learning systems. We therefore propose a simulator design method based on a simple, modular and above all generic and reusable architecture. This design method can therefore be applied to a broad range of fields and offers an efficient solution to various problems such as 1) economic factors, since a simulator is often less expensive than the system it simulates; 2) geographic constraints, since it can be utilized almost anywhere; 2) grasping certain concepts, since it can focus on interesting aspects and results by getting rid of numerous technical problems; 3) lastly, it lightens the educator's workload by assisting the student using the system.
