Abstract
This paper discusses the approach and achievements of T3 (Telematics for Teacher Training), a European project in the field of online teacher training, from the point of view of the Italian partner. The courses developed during the project are used to exemplify and discuss the pros and cons of the various design choices. The project developments support the conclusion that the European dimension has greatly contributed in two directions: towards the practical aim of setting up a network of institutions that collaborated and will continue to collaborate in the delivery of teacher training; and towards the methodological objective of striking a balance between different culturally and nationally biased teacher training approaches.
