Abstract

This study is a theoretical approach to benefit from commonly used online tools, specifically Google+, in mathematics classrooms and presents a brief literature review of integration of social networking sites into the classrooms. It is suggested that using social network sites will increase the student engagement in mathematics teaching and learning because writing is the common ground of both mathematics and social networking sites. Google+ allows users to share pictures, text, and videos, to talk more than one user, to comment other users’ posts, and share their screen with others. Considering all these features, Google+ is especially useful for distance learning and tutoring math.
