Abstract
In the last decade and with the rapid pace of evolution of Information Technologies (IT), E-learning have witnessed noticeable leaps and have recorded a high rate of promulgation among universities and institutions around the world. Initially, e-learning was confined to the aid of computers in teaching. Nowadays, the concept has been extended magnificently to include distance education, interactive technologies, integration of mobile and smart devices, virtual and remote laboratories, and online educative platforms. This paper sheds light on the most prominent challenges in many aspects of E-learning technologies. The paper discusses the future trends in online laboratories, Learning Management systems (LMSs), mobile learning, and online authentication models.
