Abstract

Built to be a Web 2.0 curriculum integration project, the Global Learning Initiative Project (GLIP) is a multi-modal effort that enables students to research and discover answers to global questions, all the while interacting and working collaboratively with others around the globe. GLIP was designed to provide students with the opportunity to engage in an interactive, project-based global learning initiative. This project involved over 200 students from around the world: 7th graders from Qatar, 11th graders from Hawaii, and college students from Russia and North Carolina. This presentation will address the lessons learned from the pilot implementation of the collaborative as well as provide recommendations.
