Abstract

This paper discusses how the computer technology is integrated into a Problem-Based Learning L2 classroom. In the Problem-Based Learning L2 class, students are requested to be engaged in language learning through organized and purposeful activities with authentic materials and collaborative learning models. Research has shown that Problem-Based Learning approach is effective in raising student’s motivation, enhancing their problem solving and critical thinking skills, and deepening their understanding of the subject contents. So are the benefits from computer technology to a language learning program. In this paper, the effectiveness, limitations and suggestions of integrating computer technology with a L2 classroom are discussed. They shall be made for future research on integrating computer technology in a Problem-Based Learning in English language classes in monolingual societies.
