Abstract

The relationship between anatomy and radiology provides a unique learning opportunity for students to apply their anatomical knowledge in a clinical context and appreciate its clinical relevance. Digital imaging has revolutionised the way in which radiological imaging is utilised clinically. However, in many undergraduate curricula, students are limited to viewing a small range of hard copy radiological images using Xray view boxes. The purpose of this project was to develop a radiological anatomy eLearning package utilising the strengths of educational technologies, i.e. interactivity and multiple media, to encourage students to integrate their knowledge of anatomy and radiology across a wide range of radiological images whilst enabling them to experience modern radiological imaging. Students found the eLearning package interactive and engaging, appreciated the immediacy of feedback and clinical context and rated it higher than traditional methods of teaching radiological anatomy.
