Abstract

The Digital Divide is the gap between people with ready access to technology and those with little access. Although many individuals understand the Digital Divide, some still exhibit apathy toward those on the inadequate side of the divide. As a result, it is important that educators develop strategies to promote empathy toward those who have limited access to technology. This paper discusses the issues inherent in the Digital Divide and the resources available to teachers for bridging the Digital Divide, and then focuses on a specific instructional approach utilizing digital narrative to bridge the Digital Divide. A discussion of scholarly significance and student impact is also included.
