Abstract
The relationship between student learning outcomes and use of audience response systems, sequentially challenging questions embedded in PowerPoint presentations and student collaboration is explored in this quasi-experimental AB research design study. Participants are students who enrolled in one of two sections of a Functional Anatomy and Kinesiology course at a small faith-based college. One section served as control and the other section as treatment groups until midsemester, at which time the roles of the groups switched. Both quantifiable and qualifiable data are analyzed to provide a rich overview of student performance and student perception. Indepedent t test analysis of grades on written assessments, final examination and final course grades and interviews and surveys serve as dependent variables.
