Abstract
The purpose of this research is to examine teachers’ perspectives with regard to digital storytelling, assessing its potential as a dissemination tool. This study is the first phase of a larger study whose purpose is to arrive at an understanding both of teachers’ and of students’ reactions to digital storytelling. In the literature, our research team focused on the importance of storytelling in creating a successful digital storytelling and suggested a variety of ways of integrating digital storytelling in classrooms. Our research team interviewed one principal and two teachers and asked follow-up questions to collect data. After collecting data, our team categorized the emerging theme in terms of the benefits and the challenges involved in using digital storytelling in the classroom. The result of this study indicated that the digital storytelling can be a unique dissemination tool in K-12 educational settings.
