Abstract
Shuttr is an easy-to-use interactive online learning platform that provides learners the tools they need to acquire a better understanding of the complexities that exist when capturing a photograph. With an increasing user base resulting from the greater availability and lower cost of digital photography, much of the understanding of what is involved in taking a photograph and the technical composition of a photograph is left out of the users’ hands. Often times, users let their camera’s automatic modes determine the best settings for photos without understanding that better settings could be used or that additional settings are available. Shuttr enables users to quickly change settings and learn what impact changes in aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and lighting have on the outcome of a photograph. Shuttr's interactive tools are coupled with lesson plans that allow an instructor to include information to complement the subject matter of the base image.
