Abstract
In U.K. nutrition is now recognised as being central to health promotion, disease prevention and effective care and is a key element of government policy. Currently, health care professionals are poorly trained in the underlying principles of nutrition and the available resources to do this are inadequate and cannot meet the need. The University of Southampton Medical School has developed an adaptive and interactive eLearning solution that applies an evidence-based approach to nutrition learning. It includes customisable nutrition courses that facilitate interactive learning to existing and future health care professionals, flexible delivery of nutrition courses in three different modes, and administrative and reporting facilities.
