Abstract

An important part of the learning process is an assessment of student progress. It is particularly challenging in web-based teaching. Online examinations are one of the forms of assessment. There are several implementation technologies for on line examinations. However in all cases teachers are wary of setting examinations online, because there is a problem with student authentication. Even when all off-site online examinations are open-book exams student can get outside assistance to improve their examinations scores. Instructors want to be sure that they know who exactly is answering questions. In the paper we present possible implementation of forced-answered testing methods enhanced to include measures of students’ authentication.
