Abstract

LILA – acronym for library of labs - is a project funded by the European Union within the latest and last call of the eContentplus program for the networking of remote controllable experiments and virtual laboratories. Aim of the project is the buildup of a Europe-wide infrastructure for the mutual use of experimental structures and simulation software for improving the teachings in basic studies and/or at the undergraduate level of scientific academic subjects. In this article we discuss the architecture of the project, give some examples of typical components and highlight the background and our motivation.
