Abstract

Abstract: There is a need in contemporary society for improved science teaching. Elementary classrooms are the perfect setting for students to build a solid foundation in science; however, science is not often a priority in the elementary curriculum. This collaborative project between two faculty members and students in a teacher preparation program at Seton Hall University addressed improved science learning and teaching through the creation of digital science stories. These products were created in the fall 2008 semester by undergraduates as mentored by graduates for use in undergraduate classrooms and K-5 classrooms for science instruction. Data was collected and reported on process, learning and collaboration among all participants.
