Abstract

For years, professionals in career and technical education have not embraced the idea of using distance education and technology to reach more people. Just within the past five years have on-line graduate degrees been developed and implemented throughout the United States for technical education disciplines. As of to date, only a few colleges offer a full baccalaureate degree in technical education and fewer offer a graduate degree. This philosophical based paper will discuss reasons as to why distance technology has been slow to mature in technical education and potential offerings that may attract distance technology to fields related to technology and career technical education.
