Abstract
Our research aims at developing a web-based cooperative learning tool for EFL intermediate students. Teachers need to give students appropriate teaching materials. There are limited materials for intermediate level students than ones for beginners in Japan. Our system assists those teachers to get materials from internet news sites and check appropriateness as intermediate students learning materials, calculating word difficulty, sentence length, and amount of text. Also our system provide students learning environments including shared dictionaries, that students in a same group can read/write/edit a word translation for group work.
