Abstract
This paper reports some of the results of a small-scale empirical study conducted with a sample of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students at the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón, Spain. It details the learning objectives and design of this simulation, and presents the results of a questionnaire administered to the participants to evaluate attitudinal aspects related to their usage of this instructional technology. The questions this paper addresses have been structured around the following issues: (1) The link between learning objectives and design features of the Trip to Australia online rorelplay simulation; and (2) Students' attitudes towards aspects related to the instructional software used. It concludes by reflecting on the rationale and unique benefits of simulations for Foreign Language Learning (FLL).
