Abstract

Many articles point out that the use of Web-Based or “online” learning technology is becoming part of the everyday experience of campus-based university students. The purpose of this paper is to understand and highlight how Finnish engineering teachers use eLearning in their teaching, and what kind of conceptions they have about eLearning in higher engineering education. The finding was that engineering teachers use eLearning in a quite traditional way, basically as a tool to share material and give information. Although teachers didn’t widely use the possibilities of eLearning, they pointed out positive uses for it. They see the future full of possibilities.
