Abstract

In this paper we present the case of an international collaborative development of an e-learning course in Evidence Based Practice. We provide the background to the project and then consider the development in terms of the reasons for collaborating; the challenges of establishing a collaboration; the developmental challenges that arise during collaboration; and, finally, the teaching and learning challenges faced in a collaborative teaching initiative. Our own experiences and findings are contextualised in terms of a literature review around collaborative teaching and learning. We conclude our paper with a set of recommendations for successful collaboration. These recommendations are based upon our own experiences and the experiences of other collaborators from the literature review.
