Abstract
The presented study investigates how communication frequency and use of different communication media influence team climate in student teams. Data was collected in a blended learning course on web engineering in which students were assigned to develop web based systems in small teams. E-mail was the most frequently used communication medium within the teams, followed by face-to-face meetings, phone calls and online chat. The overall communication frequency seems to be a relevant factor for team climate and collaboration independent of the kind of media actually used.
