Abstract
This article points out key components of a research project organized at Boston University's Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. These key components are posed in the setting of a media resource center for the college. This paper will cover the following steps towards making technology upgrades in this college: How a technology need is diagnosed, how to find new technology to fit that need, and how to determine if this technology will help to improve in classroom instruction. Data is being gathered by way of a qualitative research approach through surveys, interviews and observations of faculty at Sargent College. What types of technology are most frequently being used? What issues might arise when using these technologies? What type of technology can be used to specifically improve classroom instruction? How can this technology be implemented successfully and cost-effectively? How can proper assessments be made after the technology has been implemented?
