Abstract

Providing a state required rubric score (exceptional-1, proficient-2, basic-3, and unacceptable-4) for each of 130 knowledge and ability statements under the Alabama Quality Teaching Standards and 24 - 50 knowledge and ability teaching field statements for content field standards, influenced the college of education administrators and faculty to adopt a commercial e-portfolio solution that is in the early stages of integrating with the established course management system (CMS). This paper reveals questionnaire results gathered at the beginning of a semester during early experiences of practice. Inquiry about faculty attitudes, assessment decisions, and student learning and reflection suggestions as a result of the e-portfolio implementation are included. Quantitative as well as quantitative analysis is applied to determine if there were any significant assessment differences and common themes among faculty attitudes and student learning suggestions.
