Abstract

Within the framework of the Virtual University of Bavaria the University of Würzburg created an online-course for future teachers to discover the possibilities of classroom computer use in teaching algebra and geometry. The course includes eight consecutive modules. Each module contains several learning units addressing a wide variety of tasks that correlate to the three outcome goals. Each module is designed according to two different layers. Due to these layers, the learner is able to interact with the learning content and determine the advantages and disadvantages of the new technologies (in classroom). The outcome of the way how to represent the learning content and how to organize E-Learning based on four years of practice, experience, evaluation and upgrading will be presented. The goal of this best practice example is to illustrate success and problems of this course and to give hints for planning, designing and arranging new courses.
