Abstract

Abstract: Based on the American sitcom Friends, a video-task based English teaching methodology has been designed and delivered in two high schools in Beijing. This pilot study intends to investigate the effects of this approach in students' English as foreign language learning. Particularly, this paper intends to answer: how does the video-task-based approach change students' language learning ideology. The interview data show that video task-based methodology changed students' outlook on L2 learning and enhanced their L2 learning motivation.
