Abstract
Exchanging information and sharing applications between businesses has become very common. There are concerns in data transmission, data security, and so on. Among these issues, system interoperability are one of most obvious issues since data and application integration is not an easy task due to differences in programming languages, system platforms, DBMSs used within different systems. Thus the challenge of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) is becoming more critical, which makes the integration difficult among current Enterprise Information Systems (EIS). This paper describes the use of a new distributed middleware technology 'Web Services' to address the issue of system interoperability raised from existing Information systems. As the result, a Web Service-based Integrated Enterprise Information System (WSIEIS) is proposed and implemented. An assessment and discussion would be raised about the proposed solution at the end of this paper.
