Abstract

This study sought to explore student metacognitive awareness, their community of inquiry, and their readiness to integrate technology into classrooms in a weblog-embedded course in teacher education. The participants were 155 undergraduates who took the "Principle of Instruction" course in a national Taiwan university in the fall semester of 2006. Data were collected through surveys. The results showed the students had above-average levels for all surveyed characteristics. The findings will help readers acquire a better understanding of the nature of the weblog medium, and will help teacher educators model technology use to students and develop student confidence in technology integration in education.
