Abstract

This paper investigates a method for developing innovative tech-savvy teachers through a new assignment in a preservice teacher education course focusing on technology integration. The assignment is meant to support preservice teachers becoming early adopters of new technologies and fulfill the need to incorporate the span of technologies K-12 teachers should be prepared to use. Data collected from focus groups and questionnaire distributed to preservice teacher participants indicate that the assignment was well-received, was effective, and will quite possibly impact preservice teacher attitudes and beliefs as future teachers.
