Abstract
Cultural attributes define a society and the several stages in the lives of its populace. These notions and phases are both formal and informal and graduation from one and intiation into another are often marked with rituals defined by society. As information technology has become more intrusive its imposition on schools has crossed formal differential lines allowing for its engagement by all segments of our culture creating a series of techno-cultural effects. This paper will present these issues within a conceptual framework that discusses the nature of technology and its cultural effects on present day schooling and where these ideas may lead us in the future.
