Abstract

Interaction is important to effective learning. Moore (1989) defined three types of interaction: learn-content interaction, instructor-learner interaction, and learner-learner interaction. With the advancement of telecommunication technologies, Hillman, Willis, and Gunawardena (1994) added another type of interaction that learners need to succeed in distance learning: learner-interface interaction. Survey data from an IPTV class were analyzed based on this framework of interaction. The study found that the new software used on the tablet enhanced the four types of interaction and made learning more fun and engaging to the students.
