Abstract

'Leadership matters' and 'start with the pedagogies, not the technologies', say Australian educators. This paper provides an overview of what a cross-section of Australia's educational leaders saw, in 2005, as factors that contribute to how leadership supports learning with information and communication technologies (ICT) in Australian schools. This paper provides an overview of the views of Australian educational leaders who participated in focus groups as part of a national research project called Leadership and learning with ICT. The research has highlighted how ICT is providing a lens through which to reconceptualise Australian school education in the 21st century. This paper draws on the words of the participants throughout, to illustrate findings and to give the paper authenticity.
