Abstract

Podcasts provide an innovative means to deliver cross-curricular and pedagogically rich content to a wide range of audiences. We are using podcasts in an integrated technology project at the College of Education at the Pennsylvania State University (www.ed.psu.edu/pds/education). A central aim of the program is to prepare future teachers to develop methods of technology integration that enhance learning in the 21st century. Teacher educators in the program have used podcasts to enhance learning in core subject areas. In particular, we have used podcasts in an elementary science methods class to supplement a 5th grade unit on water quality. Another podcast on children's science misconceptions was produced for practicing teachers. During this poster session, participants will be introduced to examples of podcasts from the EDUCATE Initiative. Participants will be provided a written tutorial to help them in the process of developing their own podcasts.
