Abstract

A qualitative approach was employed to obtain deep information from preservice teachers regarding their perceptions of the use of technology that could illuminate the current status of preservice teacher education about technology. The study primarily focused on three cases that consisted of structured interviews, classroom observations and discussion board notes. It was found that all participants reflected different degrees of the weaknesses criticized in previous studies. The components of better teacher education were also reflected at different levels. In addition, the higher their stage of concern the higher their level of use. Implications for developing successful preservice teacher education courses for technology integration were recommended.
