Abstract

Project VIEW focuses on bringing external educational programs and resources into classrooms through interactive videoconferencing. The purpose of this study is to document the characteristics of effective curriculum plans that use interactive videoconferencing. A content analysis was conducted on videoconference integration plans developed by teachers who completed a professional training program developed by Project VIEW. The study found that the curriculum products demonstrated instruction on higher-level thinking skills, analytical learning, engagement of students on hands-on experience, inquiry-based learning activities, and cooperative learning activities. Teachers employed videoconferencing as an advanced organizer for review of content and as an extension of knowledge.
