Abstract

The effectiveness of use of visual aids (such as charts, maps, pictures and etc.) in learning outcomes of learner has been proven by to researchers for many years. As Kosslyn (1980) says:" Images are important to learning as they enable the learner to picture what is not depicted in the instruction; therefore, they facilitate comprehension and problem solving." However the advances in using computers to create new instructional visuals from one side and the popularity of computer based-training from the other side has raised issues about the characteristics of effective visual designs.
