Abstract

Abstract: This paper focuses on phase two of the project, whereby the researchers are now interested in validating the experiences teacher candidates had with integrating technology into their field placements and whether or not those experiences are truly reflected in their portfolios. Results showed that overall the artifacts presented by teacher candidates in their portfolios represented the breadth of their experiences as they related to integrating technology; however, for some candidates the portfolios failed to capture the depth of the experience as described by candidates during follow-up interviews. It is recommended that multiple methods of data collection (e.g. portfolio analysis, interviews and/or presentations) be employed when assessing teacher candidates.
