Abstract
This paper presents basic principles for preparing an electronic document center for NCATE accreditation. With considerable data from a recent case, guidelines are detailed, procedures and problems analyzed and ideas for success are suggested. The preparation and organization of electronic materials demand a systematic approach, technical coordination and equipment. An NCATE accreditation team needs access to information quickly and conveniently without error. Technical details help to provide insight into these and other issues. Just as important, achieving a functional and comprehensive paper-less document center also requires hands-on labor, school leadership and institutional organization. Critical elements that can confound or complicate the process are discussed and recommendations are presented to help other institutions begin and prepare for accreditation.
