Abstract

The Lead IT Project of the Ottawa-Carleton Catholic School Board focuses on promoting a design down model of curriculum planning with corresponding assessment practices in a rich information technology context. Unique to this project is that assessment and evaluation plays a central role in the planning of curricular activities and technology integration. The Lead IT project focuses on the seamless integration of technology in all subject areas from K to grade 8. The 225 participating teachers represent a continuum of technology use. The Lead IT project has three main components: the allocation of resources, a differentiated professional learning model and the methodology used to plan curriculum. Research questions include: How does the integration of technology impact assessment and evaluation practice? What is the impact of the Lead IT Project on student achievement?
