Abstract
Abstract: Each semester, instructors make choices about the allocation of course time and resources to accomplish learning objectives. These decisions involve choosing material to "cover" in the lecture versus coverage by some other method. In the past, other methods included reading in textbooks or doing homework problems designed to teach material. Today, the availability of technology allows more options for presenting course content. The specific tool, a Personal Computer Movie (PC Movie), is easy to create by the instructor and easy for students to use. This paper discusses development and making PC Movies using a commercial product, uses of PC Movies to teach accounting information systems (AIS), student reaction to using this tool in comparison to others, and ongoing research in using this technology to foster student learning.
