Abstract

The Method of Inclusion Project-Special Education Research and Innovation project demonstrates Seton Hill University's commitment to providing pre-service teacher programs that are accessible to all students. In this project the University selected a strategy that links a comprehensive faculty development program to course revision and new course formats focusing on inclusion. The strategy emphasizes inclusionary teaching and learning strategies and provides the faculty with the necessary skills to teach inclusionary methods to pre-service teachers so that they will be better able to serve all the students in their future classrooms. In all areas of instruction, the Seton Hill University faculty endeavor to present instruction in ways that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities. This project demonstrates best practice and effectively addresses the K-6 environment to integrate inclusionary practices in classrooms. The data of results and the training CD will be presented and available for examination.
