Abstract
This paper reflects the findings of a Type 1 developmental research study on how asynchronous technologies and methodologies support learning and skill transfer for interpersonal communication development. In this developmental research, an online review module was developed using animated simulations for a commercial leadership training provider, Gordon Training International, Inc. The modules are currently being field tested with professional managers in both the United States and Canada and these results will be shared both in this presentation and proceedings paper. This research highlights theoretical findings on scenario-based simulations, computer-based agent fidelity, the use of asynchronous strategies for learning, and the definition of effective post-instructional strategies. These findings serve to support future design and development of asynchronous learning strategies that enhance comprehension and skill transfer for interpersonal communications.
