Abstract

This paper discusses ways in which computers and software should be used in order to achieve effective instruction in classes. The reader is introduced to the principles, context and process of Computer Based Instruction (CBI). A presentation of the framework and the levels of skills in using CBI, followed by principles of use are considered. The advantages and disadvantages in using CBI are analyzed. Comparisons between traditional and CBI instructional framework are highlighted. Analysis of CBI from constructivist and multiple intelligences theories are also presented. Additionally, final recommendations will be presented.
