Abstract
The challenge of creating a learning environment that builds on experience, providing clear and secure support for a new world of knowing, requires reflection upon and examination of traditional and accepted ways of learning and teaching. This paper explores the development and implementation of LAMS in the context of the reconfiguring of an Indigenous block release community management diploma into a degree. In evaluating the implementation new questions about the social context of learning are raised: What are the boundaries between Indigenous support units and student success? How do students make the links between learning and experience? How do educational technologies support more flexible learning and empower students?
